The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for service users with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community.

Job Advert Role Description

Cheadle CAMHS inpatient Education Service is an in-patient mental health care facility designed to meet the needs of teenagers with complex needs

We are looking for committed and enthusiastic people to join our friendly team, working with a unique group of young people.

You will be able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies and teaching skills, as well as being organised and having high expectations of achievement and behaviour.   You will assist with the management of the learning environment. You will assist senior staff by contributing to the development of care and learning plans and contribute to the preparation of reports and update daily records and logs.

As a Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital; experience however is not essential, providing you have a willingness to learn and the compassion and patience needed to support.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant NVQ3 qualification (or equivalent) which is appropriate to the teaching and learning environment of learners and young adults is essential.

What we’d like from you:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
  • Strong “can do” attitude
