Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is located in beautiful West Sussex and offers the opportunity to gain experience across many specialist mental health disciplines including Secure Services, a DBT Locked Rehabilitation service, HDU Services and Acute care.

With a CQC rating of GOOD across all 5 Key Lines of Enquiry, you would be working in a forward thinking hospital supporting our patients recovery alongside a highly skilled and dedicated Multi-Disciplinary Team.

We are currently looking for a part-time Forensic Psychologist to join our female LSU team at Priory Hospital Burgess Hill.

 

We would like to hear from enthusiastic and skilled individuals who are able to work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide a high quality of care to our patients.

 

You will be vital to identifying and delivering appropriate and relevant treatments and interventions within the given field of therapy, in order to promote and develop the mental, emotional, physical and social well-being of clients; liaising with family and carers.

 

Your responsibilities:

 - Provide training and running reflective practice sessions

 - Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking assessments to determine and plan an effective therapy programme for assigned clients

 - Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions within the given field of therapy ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the client

 - Writing risk assessments

 - Managing an assigned caseload within agreed timescales ensuring regular interaction and communication with clients, professional colleagues and clinical staff

 - Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports, computerised information systems and other associated documentation

 

Your experience and qualifications:

 - Successful completion of a Doctorate in either Clinical or Forensic Psychology or the British Psychological Society's stage 2 training in Forensic Psychology

 - Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner Psychologist and Charterable status with the British Psychological Society

 - Experience in complex assessment and formulation

 - Up to date knowledge of legislation and its implications for the profession and the client groups we work with

 - Knowledge and understanding of working with trauma

 - Experience working in a female LSU is desirable

 - Competency as regards risk assessment/management tools and formulation

 - Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) experience or training is desirable, but not essential for the role
