Job Advert Role Description


Set within a safe and therapeutic environment, the Priory Hospital Dewsbury is a 32 bedded locked service, supporting two different service user groups:

•           Hartley Ward focuses upon the active rehabilitation of men with mental health issues. The emphasis is upon stabilising mental health, reducing risks and enhancing independent living skills, with a view to reintegration into the community. This is a 16 bed ward.

•           Jubilee Ward supports men detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 with dementia, and behaviours that challenge. This is also a 16 bed ward

Main responsibilities of the role will be:

•To undertake the planning, preparation and cooking of meals, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the unit, including pureed food

•To take full shift responsibility for the catering operation

•Ensuring the cost effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food products and the checking of deliveries.

 Ensuring that wastage is minimised

•           Researching and creating new menus ensuring meals are of a high quality and compliment healthy eating guidelines.

•           Supervision and Management of catering staff

Managing the kitchen rota to ensure a chef is at site at all times.
