Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking Children’s Residential Support Workers for our specialist children’s home located across Birmingham. Opportunities based in Aston, Bartley Green, Hockley, Rubery and Marston Green. (Please indicate location preference in the application).

 Due to the nature of the role a full driving licence is required.

Priory group are looking for passionate, professional and dedicated employees to work with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties and challenging behaviours.

As a member of our residential care team you will strive to bring out the best in every young person by supporting and guiding them in their daily lives. This could be accompanying them to take part in an activity or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines.

You will work a combination of shifts assigned by the home’s manager, these will comprise of earlies, lates, full day shifts and sleeping -in-duties, which are paid at an additional £35. There is also the possibility of overtime if desired.

Relevant qualifications are desirable, but not essential

Candidates should be:

  • Patient, sociable and empathetic in order to establish good relationships with our young people based on confidence, trust and mutual respect.
  • Prepared to deal with challenging behaviour which may be exhibited by a young person at any time for a many number of reasons.
  • Willing to assist in household maintenance tasks such as cleaning in order to maintain the high level of cleanliness expected within the children’s homes.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references will be requested prior to interview for all roles within our schools.
