Job Advert Role Description

We are looking for a full-time Site Services Manager for 40 hours per week to oversee and deliver an effective maintenance service across all sites within the Devon & Cornwall Children's Services cluster. 

This role will involve development and management of the maintenance team including recruitment of new team members.  The successful candidate will be expected to:-

  • Implement Priory policies and procedures to ensure that regulatory, health and safety and operational standards are met
  • Manage the maintenance of all assets, including the building, seek advice and guidance from Estates professionals to ensure that all improvements are carried out to Priory minimum standards, meeting any regulatory requirements
  • Work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of maintenance and health & safety compliance within the schools and care homes
  • Co-ordinate Health & Safety for the sites reporting directly to the Operations Director and feed back to SMT and H&S meetings
  • This role will also involve a Governance role for the Devon & Cornwall sites.

We will provide some in-house training along with mandatory e-learning modules as part of your role.  The ideal person will need to be flexible in terms of hours with the ability to respond to maintenance issues as and when they occur which could be outside of usual hours.

Devon Children's Services is made up of two schools, Quay View School (Bere Alston) and Tor View School (Tavistock) and three children's homes based in Tavistock, Gunnislake and Okehampton.  We specialise in care and education of children and young people aged 7-19 with autism, learning difficulties, challenging behaviour and SEMH.
