Our support workers are resilient and empathic to recognise this and give you the best start you will receive £250 when you first start with us, and then when you are settled in in 6 months’ time we will give you an extra £250 for your hard work.

At our children’s home Leyland we support and care for young people with ASD and challenging behaviour. Working as a team both in the home and at school our support workers show warmth and patience to overcome these challenges and make a real difference to the young people’s future.

Our children's home Leyland has a Good Ofsted rating and currently we have 3 full time young people staying with us and 1 young person moving in the New Year.

Our team work well together and have a warm approach both in supporting each other and the young people.


Shifts are on a rota basis, because we support our young people in the school to give consistency weekday shifts are 07:30-16:15 and 15:45 to 22:00 weekends are 07:30 to 14:30 and 14:00-22:00.

Your duties will include:

Be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential

Manage the well-being and behaviour of young people ensuring behaviours are addressed promptly and sensitively

Support young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour

Support and encourage educational engagement and attainment including homework and behavioural support within the education setting.

Every day is different at our children’s home in Leyland, with supporting in the school, home and community as well as holidays and trips out you will experience a variety of activities.

Because of our young people’s challenges they can often become frustrated and demonstrate difficult behaviours which our support workers help manage and redirect. Training on how to manage the behaviours is included in your basic and mandatory training

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references will be requested prior to interview for all roles within our schools.
