Job Advert Role Description

Ready for the recognition and rewards you deserve?
We don’t just talk about putting employees first. We know that Priory wouldn’t exist without their combined energy, expertise and effort.  So we invest heavily in training, provide first-class support, promote collaborative teamwork and give everyone on our team the opportunities and resources to achieve their full potential.

Stockton Hall is a highly specialist 112 bedded hospital where patients requiring medium security can maximise the value of therapeutic interventions available.  The patient group consists of men and women with /mental illness and/or personality disorder and men with mild to moderate learning disability / autistic spectrum disorder.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic individual to join our team for 12 month fixed term contract.  As a qualified Occupational Therapist you will have considerable relevant experience in a mental health setting, preferably within secure environments and work in a recovery focused way. You will have a professional approach to your work – which should be both evidence based and embrace MDT team working, as well as awareness of current legislation influencing occupational therapy practice in a forensic setting.

If successful, you will provide specialist interventions to an identified patient group using resources and facilities both within the hospital and also in the community for those patients with section 17 leave.  You will actively contribute to the on-going development of the service and engage in the regular practice development / CPD / reflective practice meetings.  You will use your experience of group work to assist in the delivery of the treatment group programmes.  You will be involved in the education of students from several universities, and be responsible for the regular formal supervision of junior staff.

For further information or informal discussion, please contact Alison Nelson - Therapy Services Manager on 01904 400500 ext 298.
