WE ARE LOOKING FOR TALENTED PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!

Job Advert Role Description

Set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City centre, Priory Hospital Woodbourne is conveniently located for access to the West Midlands motorway network and with very good local public transport links.

The hospital provides a diverse range of inpatient services, including acute and psychiatric intensive care for adults aged 18-25 years, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, specialist Eating Disorder (including day care) and private acute and addictions treatment programmes.  With 78 beds across 7 wards, our multi-disciplinary teams deliver personalised treatment programmes to our patients and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.

We are looking to recruit a Therapy Services Manager to lead and co-ordinate a sizeable Therapy Services operation through the effective and progressive management of a multi-disciplinary team. Collectively providing inpatient and day care therapy services.

This is a new and exciting role at Woodbourne as the role now also holds a clinical caseload. The clinical caseload will be delivering therapy (dependant on the qualification and registration of the successful applicant) in either our private acute & addictions treatment programme or in our CAMHS inpatient unit.

The expected split of the role is 3 days managerial responsibilities and 2 days clinical caseload. The clinical expectation is 8-9 face to face patient hours over the 2 days.

The Role

•           Leads and co-ordinates the therapy services operation through the effective and progressive management of a multi-disciplinary team, who collectively provide inpatient and day care therapy services.

•           Contributes to business growth by actively promoting Priory’s therapy services, in line with the local unit business plan.

•           Assesses, plans, delivers and reviews therapy plans for individual and group sessions.

•           Identifies, recommends and implements policies, processes and systems designed to improve and enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and professionalism of the therapy services function.

•           Manages the development, implementation and review of therapy services ensuring the cost effective provision of facilities, the effective deployment of staff and the appropriate use of therapeutic interventions across all fields of the inpatient and day care programme.

•           To participate on the Senior Management On call for the site which is approximately 1 week in 4 and very occasional out of hours visits.

•           Regularly monitors, reviews and reports on the performance of the therapy services programme against key performance indicators, quality assurance targets and audit results ensuring therapy services continue to deliver to quality standards in terms of success rates, costs and income.

•           Provides clinical advice and support to the Centre Manager at our nearby Birmingham Priory Wellbeing Centre.

Experience Required

The role holder will require a relevant professional qualification, a recognised post-graduate qualification together with full membership / accreditation of a relevant professional institution.

Ideally you will have knowledge of group therapy programs, different therapeutic modalities, 12 Step program and inpatient therapeutic services (though this is ideal but not essential)

A detailed understanding of statutory regulations is essential, as are financial and people management skills.

The role holder will have relevant practice experience, together with previous supervisory/managerial experience for a group of professional staff.
