​We are looking for passionate, energetic and aspirational individuals to join us as a Senior Support Worker.

Talocher Farmhouse is a registered Children’s Home which can accommodate a maximum of eight young people of either gender usually ranging in age from 10-18 years. 

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing day to day care for our young people, supporting them in their daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour.

Our Senior Support Workers ensure all health needs are met along with supporting our young people to achieve in their education, increasing self-esteem and equipping them with the knowledge and ability to keep themselves safe.  Our staff ensure the highest standards of care in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs are always met.

The successful candidate will be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team, strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations to their full potential. 

Our Senior Support Worker roles in Talocher offer a salary of £18,000 per annum plus £40 nightly sleep in allowance. There is an opportunity for overtime if desired.

Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is essential for this role.  Successful applicants will have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour. 

Due to the remote location of our home, a valid clean driving license is essential.

Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a Senior Support Worker in our home, we operate a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays.

Week 1: Tuesday & Saturday

Week 2: Wednesday & Friday

Week 3: Monday, Thursday & Saturday

Staff could work a shift ranging from the hours of 08.00am - 23.00pm.

Approximately 5 sleep in’s a month are required (can vary with annual leave etc.) A typical sleep is 23.00 pm – 07.30 am.
