Job Advert Role Description

The Priory Hospital Middleton St George offers a wide range of Psychiatric Specialties and Sub-Specialties. It is located in the quiet picturesque Town of Middleton St George. Despite its rural location, it is situated close to all major travel routes; A1/A19 and M1.

Priory MSG is currently rated 'Outstanding' by CQC, due to the hospital's ethos on delivering patient focused, recovery and evidence based interventions, with evidence of high quality patient outcomes. Each Ward within the hospital has a stable and full complement of professionals; OT, Psychology and experienced RMN's that deliver robust  MDT working.

At Priory MSG, there is provision of a wide range of treatments and interventions which promotes least restrictive practice and active patient collaboration in decision making. Priory MSG has a good working relationship with other Priory Healthcare services and stakeholders within the region, enabling supportive care pathways.

The post is for a General Adult Psychiatrist to work on a 12 bedded acute in-patient, Female Ward. The ward has an established MDT and currently has a whole-time Consultant Psychiatrist and Advanced Practitioner.

The post-holder has responsibility for the day-to-day medical care of the patients on the wards. There is no out-patient work required.

The on call requirement for this post is the second on-call, of a two tier rota, at a maximum frequency of 1:5 on- call. The post holder is expected to provide senior support, to the first on-call, usually an Advanced Practitioner/Specialty Doctor.

The post holder would be joining an enthusiastic, committed and supportive group of Doctors and Advanced Practitioners and would be part of the planned organic growth and strategic development of the Hospital site. There would be opportunities to be involved in service development, attend CPD events,  develop medical education, forge and develop improved and stronger alliances with stakeholders.
