Job Advert Role Description

Priory have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our quality team. The Health and Safety Officer will be working as part of an enthusiastic health and safety team, you will also be using your experience, expertise and knowledge to complete site audits, compile and deliver health and safety reports and assist with the continuous improvement of the health and safety culture across the organisation, including the formation and review of policies and procedures, the design of training media, and the provision of reactive support as necessary. As a Health and Safety Officer you will have an up to date knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.

Health & Safety Advisor duties include but not limited to

  • To provide expert professional advice and support with regard to all health and safety matters to all sites in the allocated regional area, supporting junior members of the Central Health and Safety Team as required and to senior management as requested
  • To compile comprehensive health and safety reports for site leaders and senior management using IT systems as appropriate in accordance with team and organisational standards
  • To assist in the development, review and implementation of health and safety policies
  • To assist in ensuring effective actions and improvements arise out of Health and Safety incidents including suitable reporting under RIDDOR
  • Work with the operational teams to identify opportunities to add value to the group by adopting a continuous improvement mind-set on the group's approach to health and safety
  • Act as a subject matter expert & supporting and advising H&S officers across the group.

What we would like from the Health & Safety Advisor

  • Must be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma Level
  • Knowledge of the latest UK Health and Safety legislation  
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Forward thinking, proactive and creative
  • Able to compile reports and training presentations to a good standard

This is a regional role with some requirements to travel. The ideal candidate would be based within the Midland/ East Anglia area.
