Featherstone is a service for male patients who have a severe mental illness and are in the acute phase of illness. The service also treats patients who have a dual diagnosis and have a complex presentation. Our PICU services specialise in the treatment of patients who cannot be managed in acute settings, transfers from other PICU units and prison. The service has excelled in treating the most complex individuals with a person centred approach and comprehensive risk management.

Are you experienced of working in a PICU environment if so this could be the role for you.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working within a PICU setting.  Reporting to the Ward Manager you will be responsible for the clinical direction of the service, providing clinical supervision for the ward team and implementing best practice. The successful applicant will participate fully with the clinical team and support changes within the service.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • RMN Qualified
  • NMC Registered
  • 2 Years RMN experience in Mental Health
  • Confidence in shift management
  • Good team working skills
  • The ability to work creatively with patients
  • To be able to undertake audit duties
  • A confident understanding of the MHA
  • Knowledge around CQC KLOES
  • To safely and efficiently manage safe guarding issues

 

The post holder must be experienced in delivering and receiving supervision. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to be able to assess and prioritise clinical situations. The management of effective communication between medical and nursing staff both verbal and written is a key element of this role.

•RMN Qualified

•Active NMC Registered

•Have knowledge of the Mental Health / Capacity Act and its implications for practice

•Be patient centric and have a commitment to delivering high quality care

•Possess fine-tuned decision making skills

•Have an excellent organisational capacity and effective communication skills

•Be flexible and have a strong "can do" attitude

•Strong desire to work with in a PICU services
