Job Advert Role Description

Priory Brain Injury Services (PBIS) provide specialised care pathways within the Priory for people with acquired brain injury (ABI). PBIS has been successfully delivering neurobehavioral rehabilitation and making a positive difference to people’s lives since 1985 to people with ABI, whose challenging behaviour prevents attainment of their maximum rehabilitation potential and personal autonomy.

Grafton Manor has a transdisciplinary team composed of psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, physiotherapy, nurses (RGN, RNLD and RMN), rehabilitation assistants and support staff. 

Grafton Manor supports up to 25 people’s inpatient rehabilitation, transitional rehabilitation and community houses. It can admit informal patients or those managed within Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. To ensure that high standards of resident care are consistently maintained at all times in accordance with agreed operational policies as a skilled member of the clinical team.

 

Our Staff Nurse role involves:

•           Being a clear leader for the Nursing team and managing shifts

•           Providing high quality care with patients suffering from acquired brain injury

•           Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement

•           Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice

•           Contributing to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress

•           Mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team

•           Promoting professional development within the team
