Job Advert Role Description

As a Night Waking Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital; experience however is not essential, providing you have a willingness to learn and the compassion and patience needed to support.

Bath Road is a specialist children's home for young people aged 7 to 18 who have complex needs which may include autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). The home is located in the market town of Frome in Somerset, with easy walking access to the local town centre.

The home provides residential provision for up to 52 weeks a year, is a stand alone children’s home, and is also linked to North Hill House and Newbury Manor Schools, both of which are in Frome.

The home’s focus is to promote the development of individual social behaviour, independence and personal skills and offering opportunities to practise these in real life settings. This ensures that our young people develop a positive outlook on life in a safe, warm, welcoming, structured and fun environment.

Supporting service users during the evening/night you will also carry out a number of administration and domestic tasks.  You will ensure that the residences are secure throughout the hours of 10pm – 8am. You will be alert and observant with regards to the well being of the service users and aware of the specific needs of service users with Asperger’s Syndrome. You will work as a member of the team, sharing and recording information as appropriate.

A diploma level 3 in children and young people would be beneficial to this role.

This is a part time role for two to three nights per week.
