Job Advert Role Description

The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence in our eating disorders, adolescent, rehabilitation and PICU services.

Orchard - this 15 bedded service offers care for young people with a range of mental health presentations with enduring high risk behaviours.  An acute admissions ward; the comprehensive multidisciplinary team offers a wide range of interventions and works closely with families and locality teams to ensure a smooth transition back to the community. The therapeutic programme emphasises the development of new life skills and coping strategies whilst continuing formal education.

The successful candidate will report to the Ward Manager and will be responsible for the clinical direction of the service, providing clinical supervision for the ward team and implementing best practice. The successful applicant will participate fully with the clinical team and support changes within the service.

For this challenging role applicants should have a minimum of 2 years relevant post registration experience in an in-patient environment and CAMHS knowledge. The post holder must be experienced in delivering and receiving supervision. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to be able to assess and prioritise clinical situations. The management of effective communication between medical and nursing staff both verbal and written is a key element of this role.

 

Essential Criteria

RMN

Minimum 2 years post registration experience

Proven deputy management and supervision skills

Experience of working in a secure setting

Good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act

Ability to undertake MVA
