Job Advert Role Description

Priory Woking provides private acute mental health, addictions and eating disorder services (inpatients and day patients), and run extensive private outpatient clinics. Some private beds are used by the NHS at times when no beds are available within the NHS trust. .

We are seeking a Medical Administrator based at Priory Hospital Woking, Monday-Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm, who will work alongside the medical secretaries.


You will need to be a team player who is willing to cover your colleagues.


You will be liaising closely with staff to ensure a timely facilitation to Assessments of patients and possible admission. You will answer telephone calls, audio type when requested and liaise with other departments. You will need to have skills in audio typing and Word as well as Microsoft Outlook.


You will be responsible for ensuring our database is kept up to date, call patients to remind them of their appointments, ad hoc typing of reports when necessary and you will ensure that discharge summaries are sent within their specified time to third parties with GDPR clearance.


Training will be given on our medical system, Carenotes, and you will need to upload documents in a timely fashion. We also require you to complete mandatory training via e-learning and classroom training and you will be requested to partake in these.


You will need to be confident speaking with people on the phone enquiring about treatment at the hospital, demonstrating good levels of empathy as well as focusing calls/visits to facilitate consultations.
