Job Advert Role Description

The Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is a private 46-bed acute psychiatric hospital for adults, located on the edge of London in Hayes, Kent. The hospital provides care and treatment for patients with a wide range of Mental Health issues both as inpatients and day patients. Hayes Grove specialises in providing care for patients with Acute mental health conditions, addiction issues - both drug and alcohol, and also has specialist Eating Disorders and Aspergers units. The hospital is situated close to excellent transport links to central London, Croydon and Bromley areas and parking is available locally.

 

We are looking for a mental health Dietician to join our multi-disciplinary team on a part-time basis. The role involves working with Adult Autistic Spectrum Disorder and General Psychiatric patients, as well as working alongside our Eating Disorders Dietician and to cover periods of annual leave.

 

The main purpose of this role will be to develop, implement and evaluate dietary and nutritional plans designed to promote the physical well being of patients within the hospital, this will include working on a one to one basis with some patients.

 

Successful candidates will be motivated and enthusiastic and will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. The role holder will be expected to provide professional/clinical advice to colleagues and to enhance understanding and learning of therapists and nursing staff with regard to dietetics and nutrition. The successful candidate will also be expected to implement improvements to methods, techniques and interventions using the latest examples of evidence based research and best practise within the field.  A degree in dietetics or nutrition together with a relevant post-graduate qualification is desirable.
