Job Advert Role Description

Farleigh Further Education College in Frome have an exciting opportunity for a strong, enthusiastic and highly motivated Assistant Head who has a sound knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

The successful candidate will work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and integrate a shared vision and strategic plan for the College as well as the following:-

  • The successful applicant must have a creative and dynamic approach and be able to provide leadership and support to colleagues at all levels
  • It is a requirement of this role that candidates have a sound understanding of regulatory requirements and must be passionate about achieving the best outcomes for the young people at our College
  • You will work closely with the senior management team and will lead on areas of teaching, learning and assessment. This will also include tracking the attendance and progress of learners.

You will benefit from a bespoke induction programme and the support and guidance of your senior colleagues across Priory Education Services. Applicants must have a formal teaching qualification.

Farleigh Further Education College Frome is an independent specialist residential college for young people aged 16 to 25 who have an ASD diagnosis.  The college provides a varied range of learning opportunities including both academic and vocational pathways. Learning is delivered both on site at Farleigh FE College and off site, where we work with a range of external partners including local FE colleges.

We aim to provide every young person with an individually tailored programme of education, care, work experience, leisure, life skills and training within the community to enable them to live as independently as possible.

Our dedicated team of staff create a safe, secure and supportive environment where our learners have a sense of belonging. Our approach enables young people to develop the confidence and skills they need to progress towards adulthood, including further or higher education and sustainable independent living.
