Job Advert Role Description

We are recruiting for Residential Support Worker’s for our Children’s Home in Chesterfield. The homes provide a modern setting in which students can achieve an enhanced degree of emotional stability through an active approach to learning. Students are able to engage in daily life with increased confidence, self-esteem, dignity and independence.

As a Residential Support Worker you will be a key member of our Children’s Home Team in Chesterfield, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people throughout their day-to-day life. Our Residential support workers through a creative and caring approach, will build good relationships with both students and their families, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible at our Children’s home.

This is a physically demanding role and staff will also need to have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all our employees to share in this commitment.

Our Support Worker roles in Chesterfield offer a salary of up £18,000 per annum. Plus sleep in allowance and overtime. 

Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. Our Support Worker posts will suit people who are prepared to work a three week rolling rota comprising of early and late shifts covering weekdays and weekends. The role does not require any contractual ‘sleep-in’ duties.

Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential for this role (we can support with the essential training of this.) Successful applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour, however if you have the right personality we will support you to gain and develop the experience.
