Job Advert Role Description

Woodland View is a 31 bedded locked rehabilitation and recovery service for men requiring a positive environment to stabilise the symptoms of mental illness, and develop positive self-management and independent skills for a successful discharge into the community.

Our recovery-based approach helps patients learn how to cope with difficulties, gain control of their life and make safe and healthy choices through close work with the team and their families (where appropriate) alongside our local community contacts. We work closely with our local community to find opportunities to build structure, skills and education, leading to self-sufficiency and reduction in risk profile.

We also offer flexibility in delivering a care pathway structured around the needs of the individual, however complex they may be.

At Woodland View we invest in our staff teams to ensure that our patients receive the most beneficial and appropriate care, tailored to their needs.

Duties

  •          Acting as lead within the kitchen area and overseeing the workload for all kitchen staff.
  •          Control and direct the food preparation process, ensuring there is a sufficient amount of stock.
  •          Manage all special requests and dietary requirements within the hospital unit.
  •          Plan orders of equipment required for food preparation or ingredients; according to identified shortages.
  •          Ensuring operational standards comply with the company’s ‘Assured Safe Catering policies’ and guidelines.

 

Skills and experience required

 

  •                 Proven experience as Head Chef
  •                 Exceptional experience in kitchen management
  •                 Communication and leadership skills
  •                 Basic experience in using computer based software
  •                 Diploma in Hospitality and Catering - Level 3
  •                 Diploma in Food Safety – Level 3
