Job Advert - Division Information

The Director of Quality, Improvement and Assurance for our Education and Children's Services Division will lead a team of professionals, who are experts in their roles ,and will have the key remit to ensure continuous quality, improvement and assurance across the division.

Priory Education and Children’s Services prides itself on delivering education and care services of the highest quality, the post holder will support this by ensuring positive Ofsted/CQC & Estyn ratings held at our services are at the very least maintained and where possible improved. Central to this role is to ensure that quality of provision continues to improve and meet highest possible standards. 

The Director of Quality, Improvement and Assurance will be a member of the SMT and will play a full, central role, contributing fully to strategic development/planning and the future growth of the division.

Suitable candidates for this exciting and influential role will have demonstrable leadership skills with a proven track record for delivering continual high quality improvements. 

Job Advert Location Description

This role is remotely based but you would be required to attend meetings at our Head Office in London and travel nationwide with the occasional overnight stay during the week.

Director of Quality, Improvement and Assurance responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and takes responsibility for the division’s quality and assurance arrangements, ensuring group and divisional quality indicators and regulatory requirements are fully satisfied
  • Provide information and analysis to identify and address patterns and trends, benchmarking against other relevant data, proposing solutions to issues identified and  producing and presenting monthly reports to the Operating Board alongside the COO
  • Working in partnership with the Specialist Director & Professional Lead for Education & Children’s Social Care, ensure the division has specialist advice and thought leadership in for example autism, residential care, education, behaviour and safeguarding
  • Offer expert advice on the developments of new services and projects
  • Participate as a full member of the division’s SMT and work with other managers to ensure an integrated approach to developing quality, people and performance is in place

What we want from a Director of Quality, Improvement and Assurance:

  • Highly experienced within special education or children’s homes and residential care provision, preferably with experience as a Ofsted or equivalent inspector
  • Ability to inspire and challenge a team of direct reports and regional delivery teams to take full accountability for ongoing improvement
  • Ability to anticipate change and where necessary develop skills, strategies and procedures accordingly
  • Expert specialist knowledge of leading, reviewing, developing and evaluating quality initiatives in educational settings
  • Must have expertise in special education and/or children’s homes and residential care at a senior level
  • Must have wide knowledge of inspection and regulation
  • Must hold a current driving license
