Job Advert Role Description

Because we want you to get off to the best start with us we are giving you an extra £250 to you when you first start with us, and then when you are settled in in 6 months’ time we will give you an extra £250 for your hard work.

Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK. With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

We are a specialist Home for 5 young people aged 8 to 18 who have experienced trauma growing up. Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of needs.

We provide a total environment where young people are offered safe, secure and predictable surroundings in which they can come to understand their own areas of difficulties and learn skills and techniques in order to overcome them. This ensures that they are able to fulfil their potential socially, academically, physically and spiritually and we are able to support them to rebuild their low self-esteem and self-belief.

We take pride in the environment we can offer. The Home is located in a beautiful, quiet, rural location in Suffolk, which has a range of areas in the extensive grounds which are being developed into a small holding unit to provide animal therapy. Our ethos was created in the belief that a positive, supportive, achieving culture is essential for good progress. We seek to maximise independence and individual potential so Young people gain the skills to live happy, meaningful and fulfilling lives.

As a Waking Night Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families, supporting our young people in the planning of their goals and living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital; experience of working with young people is essential, providing you have a willingness to learn and the compassion and patience needed to support.

Supporting students during the evening/night, you will also carry out a number of administration and domestic tasks.  You will ensure that the residences are secure throughout the hours of 10pm – 8am. You will be alert and observant with regards to the well being of the learners and aware of the specific needs of young people with Emotional, Behavioural and Social difficulties. You will work as a member of the team, sharing and recording information as appropriate.

A QCF Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People or equivalent or higher recognised qualification is required for this role.
