Job Advert Role Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a recovery focused service.

Woodland View, a 31-bedded rehabilitation and recovery service for males requiring a positive environment to stabilise the symptoms of mental illness, is a place where patients are part of the team. We work together to build the confidence and skills to re-join a meaningful place in the community, or just as often, start afresh.

Knowing that you’re making a difference to people’s lives is rewarding in itself. Our many roles offer much more than that. As well as helping you grow and develop your talent, we want you to feel proud of where you work and what you do

We want the best for people in our care. We place great importance on outcomes and quality of life. We look at what can be achieved for each person, their abilities, best interests and needs, and work within a positive environment to encourage confidence, bring structure, inclusion and opportunity in life.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager to provide clinical management and leadership across all three wards at the hospital.

This includes overseeing the quality/standards of care provided to all patients, and being responsible for the smooth running of the ward environment and resources.

  • Manage the ward staffing levels including rota management, annual leave and training.
  • Ensures that all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements and complete mandatory training.
  • Acts as a highly visible role model, mentor and leader, creating a culture that promotes learning and development.
  • Ensures that all patients have clear current care plans that reflect their personalised needs, and are evidence based.
  • Ensure the ward has clear procedures and processes to support the safe and effective running of the ward at all times.
  • Ensures that clinical communication, records, handovers, reports and other patient related information is recorded promptly and accurately.
  • Makes sure that the physical healthcare needs of patients are assessed and managed effectively.
