Learning for life, join us, watch your career flourish.

We are looking for exemplary role models to work as Support Workers and Learning Support Assistants in our children’s homes and schools across Southampton, Hampshire and Dorset.  They support young people aged 5 to 19 with complex needs, including ASD and EBD.

Our Support Workers are the backbone to the running of our children’s homes.  They support us with -

  • Creating a safe, healthy and engaging environment to encourage positive behaviour
  • Celebrating small achievements and milestones
  • Working 37.5 hours per week on a set 3-week shift pattern.  Incorporating long days, short days, and weekly sleep-ins.  The long shifts run from 8:00am until 22:00pm.

Our Learning Support Assistants are the cornerstone to our special educational needs Schools in Lyndhurst.  They support us by:-

  • Collaborating with the class teachers to support our young people through various subjects
  • Using diverse communication and engagement techniques during class time
  • Working 37.5 hours per week, term time only.  This is a 38-week post and a normal working day starts at 8am and finishes at 4pm.

Young people with special educational needs and learning difficulties tend to take longer to learn new things and require further support developing their skills.  The level of support varies from person to person but it’s important to remember that with the right support, most young people with a learning disability can go on to lead fulfilled and independent lives.
