Job Advert Role Description

Are you ready to make a real and lasting difference? Would you like to be part of a team committed to ensuring that our children and young people achieve their full potential?

Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK.  With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

Broadview is part of Priory Education, one of the UK’s leading providers of children's homes, schools and colleges for young people with complex needs. Broadview is a five bedroom children's home providing care and support for children and young people with a diagnosis of ASD and learning difficulties.  Children may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and lack of social understanding.

Within our safe, structured and predictable environment, residents will develop the skills needed to live as independently as possible, so that they are able to enjoy their lives and make real life choices as they reach adulthood.

As a Shift Leader, you will lead your assigned shift taking responsibility for a small team of staff and a group of young people.  You will ensure that the children and young people in your care are safe, healthy and able to make a positive contribution, realising their full potential through enjoyment, achievement and economic wellbeing.

This is a 52 week post, working 42.75 hours per week.  You will work in the residential setting and must be prepared to work on a shift system including early, late and weekend shifts.

What we'd like from you:

  • Emotional resilience
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness
  • A strong 'can do' attitude
  • Highly developed organisational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Previous experience in a special needs environment/school would be desirable but is not essential as full training will be given.
