Job Advert Location Description

We are currently recruiting for a full time Practice Nurse for our low secure Unit. The unit is home to 45 patients male & female with enduring mental health and personality difficulties, most of whom also have forensic histories.


The unit boasts a robust multi-disciplinary team where the psychologist works alongside colleagues from Psychiatry; Nursing; Occupational Therapy; and Social Work to provide high quality care.

Job Advert Role Description

To ensure standards of care are maintained within policies and legislation. To promote and implement evidence based practice and current forensic nursing developments. To promote an open, supportive culture, based on honest and reflective practice. Attend forums, Nursing Departmental meetings and other meetings as directed. Undertake nursing audit as requested. Act as a resource for all nursing staff within your identified area. Assist in setting and maintaining standards of nursing practice in accordance with the HIW Standards and in line with contractual arrangements with commissioners. Act as liaison and link with colleges of nursing on student placements. Support the development of patient treatment programmes.
