Job Advert Location Description

Set back within 1.5 acres of landscaped gardens, the tranquil environment of the Priory Hospital Southampton offers therapeutic and recovery focused residential treatment as well as day care and outpatient services.

Priory Hospital Southampton provides 40 beds across 3 wards.  The  services provided at the hospital include a young peoples ward (CAMHs) and treatment of most psychiatric conditions and Eating Disorders.

We have a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists

Job Advert Role Description

As part of the Support Services team, our Chefs provide a high quality service to our service users through the creation, presentation and delivery of meals. Working with a team of Catering Assistants and other chefs, the successful candidate will assist with the provision of the catering service with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation and cooking of meals. This is a zero hour contract:

What we’d like from you:

•           Flexibility in role including menu changes and the ability to cope with last minute changes to patient meal plans

•           A “can do” positive attitude. 

•           Basic qualifications in food hygiene

•           Level 2 diploma in catering or qualified by previous  experience in catering

•           Commitment to delivering a high quality service

•           Excellent organisational capability

•           Effective communication skills including the ability to use online ordering systems and IT ability to open emails, read spreadsheets and design menus

•           Enthusiasm and energy with a good degree of empathy and understanding of others

•           The ability to prepare and cook from scratch high quality fresh  meals for approximately 70 patients and staff on any given day
