Job Advert Role Description

Our Children’s Home situated in Gamrie, Scotland is seeking an experienced Homemaker for our well-kept residential home in Gamrie on a BANK shift basis.  As a Homemaker at our children’s home in Gamrie, Scotland you will be in charge of undertaking cleaning duties across the site ensuring a complete cleaning service is provided in compliance with Health & safety Regulations The home is situated in a semi rural location so ability to drive will be advantageous.

As a Homemaker for our young people in the Gamrie area you can expect an hourly rate of between £8.30 - £10.25 per hour.

You will need to have a Current Food Hygiene Certificate.


Working ad-hoc bank shifts between the hours of Monday - Friday 10 am - 6 pm.

Duties will include:

  • To take responsibility for all aspect of planning menus, food preparation and cooking on a daily basis
  • To develop menus in discussion with Senior Staff and young people
  • To order and manage all required and approved foodstuffs
  • To assist colleagues, children and young people in the preparation of snacks
  • To take account of all special dietary requirements
  • To be responsible for the safe storage and management of knives and other kitchen equipment
  • To take responsibility for the cleaning of the kitchen and eating areas within the house
  • To be responsible for the highest standards of food hygiene and risk assessment
