Job Advert Location Description

 Nelson House is a modern and spacious 30 bed hospital for men with mental illness and learning disabilities. The hospital has 3 wards, Mary Rose and Trafalgar are rehabilitation and recovery wards and Victory is a learning disability assessment and treatment ward. By having a focus on the development of skills for independence the unit provides a positive step for patients, many whose next step will be living in the community. It helps patients learn new ways of managing their conditions and symptoms with the aim of helping to prevent any future relapse. For patients with challenging behaviors, Nelson House helps them to learn skills to change their response to anxiety and distress.

Job Advert Role Description

We are looking for a dynamic self - motivated Speech & Language Therapist to lead our 12 bedded L&D assessment and treatment unit. It is an exciting time to join our new senior management team to influence positive change, role modelling and to ensure robust leadership across the service.


It is essential the successful candidate has a proven track record of effective leadership skills, knowledge of person centred recovery based interventions and has a passion for working with service users collaboratively, promoting independence.  The Speech and Language Therapist would be expected to work closely with Service users, carers and other professionals in order to provide the highest quality of care for our client group
