Job Advert Role Description

Hurworth House School is seeking a Maintenance Assistant on a part time basis working 20 hours a week. This role will be term time only and we are flexible with working days. We are looking for committed and enthusiastic people to join our friendly team, a keen interest in gardening, painting and decorating would be advantageous

As a Maintenance Assistant you will undertake regular inspections and audit of buildings, equipment, machinery, fixtures and fittings in accordance with planned maintenance schedules. You will undertake and/or supervise the completion of routine maintenance operations and remedial repairs in accordance with planned maintenance schedules ensuring work complies with operational standards and statutory regulations.

You will respond to unplanned events undertake emergency inspections, and routine repairs for which you are approved to undertake ensuring any remedial action complies with operational standards and statutory regulations.

You will also monitor and inspect work completed by maintenance assistants and contractors ensuring repairs, installations, refurbishments and other maintenance complies with operational standards and statutory regulations.

You will also ensure inspection certificates and maintenance records are accurate, up-to-date and comply with operational standards and statutory regulations.

Hurworth House School is a SEMH specialist provision working with up to 57 children and young people from the age of 5 – 19 years.  It is an expanding school which has just opened a bespoke primary provision and is continuing to develop.  This is an exciting opportunity within a school which provides a blended academic and therapeutic approach for children with complex and multiple needs.  The school employs a professional and experienced therapy team and are developing practice and expertise in a range of areas, leading to innovative and successful approaches for the most marginalised children in our society.
