Senior Support Worker

Priory Adult Care is currently looking for an enthusiastic Senior Support Workers to join our facility based on the outskirts of Leyland near Preston. Oxen Barn is a residential home for adults aged 18 plus, who have complex needs including autism, severe learning difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. The home is situated in Leyland near Preston and consists of a detached house within its own grounds and a separate annexe. The accommodation allows adults to both enjoy the advantages of communal living but to also practice independence skills within their own quiet space.Offering a homely environment, Oxen Barn aims to ensure its residents all have fulfilling lives, achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.

The role of Senior Support Worker will be both varied and rewarding. Your duties will include: carrying out medication rounds, planning and attending activities, personal care, supervisions and management of support teams and key holder responsibilities. There will also be involvement around staffing; coaching and mentoring of current staff, inducting and training of new starters and shift planning.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years’ experience working within a similar role and have obtained NVQ level 2. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop further; the Priory group can offer further NVQ qualifications to management level (Level 5), a full mandatory training program, including medication training if required. The role comes with structured careers pathway and opportunity to progress not only within the role at Oxen Barn but within Priory Adult Care group as well.
