Priory Lakeside View cares for men and women with mental health needs in both an acute setting and a locked personality disorder treatment and rehabilitation setting.

 

The hospital has 32 beds comprising of 12 personality disorder rehabilitation beds and 20 acute mental health beds.

 

Lakeside View’s versatility allows us to manage complex needs in a safe and therapeutic environment, and to support and promote independence.

Job Advert Role Description

As the Lead Psychologist you will be expected to take responsibility for the effective implementation of the psychological strategy and treatment modality.  Working across both service lines with a case load determined by formulation and identified needs, you will also be delivering and DBT to the personality disorder service, it would be desirable for you to be trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.  As the lead you will be experienced in other therapeutic approaches and have a comprehensive knowledge and experience in relevant assessments and treatment models.  You will need to demonstrate leadership and managerial skills and evidence implementation of relevant initiatives.  You will supervise the Psychology Assistant and support the wider staff group.

 

 

Key duties:

 

- To lead the DBT service.

- To provide specialist psychological assessment, and offer advice and consultation on patients psychological care to non-psychology colleagues and carers.

- To provide evidence based psychological interventions to patients, both individual and group based.

- To contribute to the MDT approach to care and treatment planning and delivery.

- To contribute to audit and research as required.

- To facilitate reflective practice and engage in CPD.

- To work autonomously and within professional guidelines.

 

Role requirements:

 

- Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC.

- Chartered Member of the BPS.

- Completion of British Isles Intensive DBT training (Desirable, however, training can be provided by the company if necessary).

- Post qualification experience circa two years at least.

- Proven leadership skills.

- Trained and experienced in relevant assessments eg IPDE
