Pelham Woods is a 21 bed rehabilitation and recovery service for women with complex mental health needs.

Our comprehensive multi-disciplinary team pride our selves on our ability to work both with enduring mental illness but also those who struggle with regulating emotions, acts of impulsivity and managing relationships.

The hospital is set in picturesque grounds overlooking the Surrey Hills and has extensive facilities including onsite Gym, Purpose Built OT Kitchen aswell as Occupational Facilities.

As a member of the team at Pelham Woods you will be encouraged to let your creative side flow, positively contributing to the sites success. You will also have free access to the onsite gym facilities.

Job Advert Role Description

The Role of peer Support Worker has been developed Specifically for people who have lived experience of mental distress. Through sharing wisdom for your own experiences, peer Support Workers will insipire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. As an Integral and highly valued member of the Multi-Disciplinary team, the Pper Support Worker will provide fomalised peer support and practical assistance to service users in other for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery choice, self determinatiopn and opportunties for the fullfillment of socially valued roles and connections to local communities. the Peer Support Worker will act as a recovery champion within the team and an ambassador of recovery for Pelham Woods and the Priory group with external agencies and partner organisatons.

 

 

A passion for quality and service development is essential to be part of this driven team along with an understanding of changing agendas within rehabilitation and recovery services.

 

To be successful as a Peer Support Worker you’ll need:

- Good Coomunication Skills

- Good Literacy Skills

- Motivation and Initiative

- Educated to GCSE equivilant.
