Job Advert Role Description

Set within landscaped gardens, the safe and supportive environment of the Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a comprehensive inpatient specialist mental health service for young people and adults.


Our 15 bed CAMHS High Dependancy Unit provides assessment and treatment for young people with complex mental health needs within the structured and safe environment of the ward. The therapeutic programmes emphasises the development of new life skills and coping strategies together with maintaining support to meet educational needs and our highly skilled multidisciplinary team offer a wide range of interventions and work closely with families and locality teams to ensure a smooth transition back into the community.


The successful candidate will have proven experience of working within a CAMHS setting. Reporting to the Ward Manager you will be responsible for leading the day to day clinical care on the ward, providing clinical supervision for the ward team and implementing best practice.  The successful applicant will participate fully with the multi-disciplinary team and support service development initiatives. 


You must have experience in leading a team effectively and have the ability to be able to assess and prioritise clinical situations. The management of effective communication between medical and nursing staff both verbal and written is a key element of this role.


In order to apply you would need to be:


• NMC Registered

• CAMHS experience ideally in an acute inpatient setting

• Be patient centric and have a commitment to delivering high quality care

• Possess fine tuned decision making skills

• Have an excellent organisational capacity and effective communication skills

• Be flexible and have a strong "can do" attitude
