Job Advert Role Description

Our Children’s Home situated in Calow village near Chesterfield is seeking a Maintenance Assistant. As Maintenance Assistant at our children’s home in Calow your primary duty will be to ensure that our residents live in a home that is a safe environment for them that adheres to health and safety standards. You will need to work closely with the home manager to ensure that all fixtures and fittings are in excellent condition and equipment is regularly serviced. We care for up to 6 young people aged 9 - 16+ years exhibiting Behavioural, Emotional, and Social Difficulties.

As a Maintenance worker in the Chesterfield area you can expect a salary of £9,000 per annum

Hours: 15 hours per week. Ideally 2 days a week working 8 am - 4 pm. There is flexibility on shift patterns dependent on candidate.

As a Maintenance and repair worker you will:

  • Ensure the home is maintained as a safe and secure place to live for the residents
  • Maintaining the home and grounds to ensure they are in excellent condition at all times
  • Work closely with the home manager on long term maintenance plans
  • Check and repair fixtures and fittings that may include lighting and heating
  • Undertaking any other additional duties such as gardening (lawn cutting etc.)

Please note that you will be expected to work at 2 provisions within the Chesterfield area that are 3 miles apart. Access to a company vehicle to travel between the 2 can be provided but you would need to have held a driving licence for more than 3 years.
