Job Advert Role Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen as we look to introduce the role of Physician Associate to the Priory Healthcare Team.  We are looking for 7 Physician Associates to work within 5 of our services.

Set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City centre, Priory Hospital Woodbourne is conveniently located for access to the West Midlands motorway network and with very good local public transport links. 

The hospital provides a diverse range of inpatient services, including acute and psychiatric intensive care for adults aged 18-25 years, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, specialist Eating Disorder (including day care) and private acute and addictions treatment programmes.  With 78 beds across 7 wards, our multi-disciplinary teams deliver personalised treatment programmes to our patients and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care. 

These posts would suit Physician Associates keen to gain experience and expertise in mental health working in a very dynamic and challenging but rewarding environment with multiple opportunities to progress their careers. We are looking for quick thinking, motivated and compassionate professionals who are great ambassadors for the Physician Associate profession, eager to join us in delivering a high standard of patient care at all times.

Our Physician Associates will undertake a key role in the medical team working under the supervision of a consultant psychiatrist and at some sites alongside specialty doctors and resident medical officers. Responsibilities will include; assessment, formulation and management. Priory knowledge, competencies & skills psychiatric training curriculum is being developed for Physician Associates and we will support you for CPD and maintaining your registration.

 

Skills, Education and Knowledge Required

  • Physician Associates Studies postgraduate diploma/MSc
  • Registration with Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR)
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality.
  • Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
