Located in Dover, Kent, our children's home is situated within a small village community and with easy access to local amenities.  Our home provides a residential environment for up to five young people between the age of 8 - 18 who have historically not responded well to conventional educational provisions, children’s homes or foster placements.  Our residential service is focused on delivering the highest quality of care in a safe, nurturing and homely setting. We also provide a range of flexible care options which can be tailored to the individual’s circumstances and are appropriate to their level of need.

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead and manage our home.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to mould, drive and develop the Children’s Home to an outstanding level.

The core task of this senior management post will be to ensure excellent standards of care and therapeutic services using PBS models are maintained. You will ensure that the environment and all services provided comply with statutory regulations, governance and quality standards. The post holder will undertake the Registered Manager responsibilities with Ofsted and provide strategic leadership ensuring a process of continuous improvement. Liaising with outside agencies and stake holders you will demonstrate professionalism and act as a role model for staff.

What we would like from you:

  • Successful applicants will hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.  If not, applicants must be prepared to complete this with us in the first 18 months of employment
  • Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development
  • Management experience is essential including supervision of other staff within a residential children’s home
  • Have experience of working with children and young people with Autism and associated learning difficulties, emotional, behavioural and social difficulties
  • Be a strong and effective leader
  • Be emotionally resilient
  • Have the ability to work flexibly and demonstrate resourcefulness
  • Have a strong 'can do' attitude
  • Have highly developed organisational skills
  • Effective communication skills

Some of the duties required in this role are:

  • To be registered with Ofsted as the manager of the service within statutory timeframes
  • To be accountable for the provision and quality of care and support given to the children
  • Meeting the obligations of safeguarding and record keeping in alignment with company policy and statutory regulations.
