Job Advert Role Description

An exciting opportunity exists for part-time Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join a dynamic psychology department providing input to our Young People's Service. We have 3 Young People's Units, consisting of an open acute unit, a PICU and a low secure female unit.

 

The successful applicant will be carry a clinical caseload and also provide specialist clinical supervision for the psychologists working across Young People's services.

 

Suitable candidates will have substantial post-qualification clinical experience and be able to demonstrate expertise at a senior psychologist level in psychologcal leadership, consultation and supervision.

 

They will have a high level of knowledge and skills in assessment and intervention with young people with complex mental health needs, drawing flexibly on a range of models, theories and approaches in their work. They will enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Equally important to the role is participation in research, evaluation and service development as appropriate.

 

The psychology department has strong research links with local Universities, providing placements for trainees from a number of different courses on both core and specialist placements.
