Job Advert Role Description

Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK.  With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

Mark College is a specialist day school registered for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 10 - 18 years of age. Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. We accept that young people who are referred to us may have previously experienced a 'cycle of failure' and our aim is to have a transformational impact on their lives by them experiencing a 'culture of success'. We support all young people to achieve successful outcomes so that they can progress to experience fulfilling and rewarding lives.

We offer bespoke packages of education and therapy for our young people. We strongly believe that some individuals will always struggle to 'fit in' to existing structures and will only thrive when their provision is tailored to meet their specific needs and circumstances.

We warmly welcome our students into our community, which is underpinned by a culture of outstanding relationships, nurture and unconditional high regard.

We are seeking an organised, dedicated and enthusiastic Administration Manager who will work on a full year basis.

Some of the duties included in this role are:-

  • Providing efficient, professional and effective administrative support to the Head Teacher ensuring that policies and procedures are used appropriately
  • Managing, organising and co-ordinating administrative and support services within the school
  • Providing expertise and guidance whilst managing performance and supporting professional development
  • You will be required to produce regular and ad hoc management information and reports ensuring these meet regulatory, statutory and compliance requirements
  • Managing and co-ordinating external and internal communications, prioritising accordingly and ensuring appropriate action is taken and all relevant individuals are involved and informed
  • Providing secretarial support to the Head Teacher, working effectively with all SLT members and support functions
  • You will also be responsible for line managing administration and housekeeping staff
  • You will contribute to the annual budget planning process and will have responsibility for the day-to-day Administration budget
  • You will also lead and manage project work as directed by the Head Teacher.

This role requires highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills in order to deal with a range of challenging situations, researching information and communicating effectively at all levels.

A relevant Business Qualification e.g. NVQ Level 5 in Management, HND/BTEC or CIPD is desirable and the successful candidate will have at least 5 years relevant experience.  This must include having previously worked at a senior PA/Administrator level with some supervisory responsibility.
