Progress School is an independent specialist day and residential school for boys and girls aged 6 to 19 who have mild, moderate and severe autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex learning needs and challenging behaviour.

Job Advert Role Description

School Administrator/Receptionist – Term Time Only + 2 weeks. 

We are looking for an experienced administrator/receptionist to work in our busy school for pupils with autism and significant learning difficulties. Working in the reception office you will be the first point of contact for all telephone calls, you will have a professional, friendly telephone manner with the ability to take accurate messages and field calls efficiently. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years experience in a similar role, will understand the importance of confidentiality and would benefit from having some working experience of managing petty cash and placing orders.

Within your role you will also be required to welcome visitors and make refreshments. Staff and pupils will also require your support throughout the day and you will be responsible for issuing staff with money for school activities and coordinating travel arrangements. Progress School is a relatively small school so the successful candidate will show qualities of being a team player and will have flexible approach to the role with some understanding of the daily challenges faced by our pupils and staff.

Other duties will include being responsible for the health & safety administration for our school, inputting reports to our bespoke system and working closely with the Head Teacher to achieve the school’s goals. You will possess excellent IT skills and have a good working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.
