At Priory Education and Children’s Services we support young people with special needs right across the UK. We continue to grow, and are looking for a senior leader to become Manging Director of those services covering the south of the country.

We are looking for an individual who embodies our values and above all ensures the safety , well-being and development of the young people we support.

About Priory Education and Children’s Services

As part of the Priory group our division supports young people in specialist homes and schools across the UK, and continue to grow successfully.

We support young people with autism,  emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties, and also specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia.

Whatever an individual’s needs, our schools, colleges and children's homes offer stable placements to help young people develop their education, social and independence skills so they can fulfil their potential.


The Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and professional Managing Director to provide leadership and focus for our growing service. 

This role will require widespread travel across the south of England.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of acquisitions, major bids, major growth, and of leading senior leaders. The confidence and skill to be able to represent your team to external stakeholders, clients and the executive team will also be vital as a Managing Director

Knowledge of relevant legislation/statutory requirements associated with SEN education and children’s homes, relevant Health and Safety legislation, and with current care practice and theories will be essential for the role

What we would like from you:

  • Essential to have run a large portfolio with turnover over £40M.
  • Essential to have experience of leading senior leaders.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for a wide portfolio of services for young people with a turnover of £40M plus.
  • Provide vision, strategic leadership, effective management and direction for the leadership population who report to this role. 
  • Provide commercial leadership and financial leadership and insight, to ensure that Operations Directors and their teams exceed budget targets, and understand and take accountability for managing their services proactively with regards to financial targets. Lead major growth including large bids and acquisitions.
  • Lead the Operations Directors and others to ensure a high quality, safe service is delivered. 
  • Lead and proactively review and improve processes to ensure delivery of key performance targets on quality service, safety, employee engagement, occupancy and profit.
