Job Advert Role Description

In this Pensions Officer role you will be part of a dedicated pensions and benefits team responsible for the compliance and day to day administration of the company pension schemes, including local government pension schemes.  This Pensions Officer role is fast paced and requires excellent communications skills with a flexible approach to working. The Pensions Officer post requires somebody that can work to deadlines with outputs that are accurate in accordance with pensions regulations. The successful candidate will support the team with a high quality, customer focused, effective and efficient pensions service to Priory staff. 

Pensions Officer Duties include but not limited to:

  • Day to day administration of all company pension schemes
  • Reconcile monthly contribution files against payroll reports
  • Accurately and on time submit payment schedules to pension providers
  • Ensure the company remains compliant in line with pension legislation and specific pension scheme requirements
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures for the pension & benefits team
  • Contribute to process improvements at all levels to increase the efficiency and quality of all aspects of the pensions and benefits function
  • Resolve all employee queries within agreed timelines
  • Liaison with third party benefit and pension providers
  • To support the Senior Pensions & Benefits Officer with any ad-hoc project work

What we’d like from you:

  • Previous experience of DB, DC, Teachers and LGPS schemes 
  • Strong working knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution pension scheme regulations/requirements 
  • Strong PC skills with advanced knowledge of Excel for large data manipulation including data sorting, vlookups, pivot tables etc.
  • Meticulous  attention to detail, methodical and thorough approach to work
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information 
  • Adaptable with the ability to perform well in a challenging environment where priorities can change at short notice 
  • Recognised PMI qualification (either completed or working towards)
