The Manor Clinic believes that anyone struggling with addictive behaviours deserve the best possible support to make a strong and lasting recovery. We are a private treatment centre in Southampton that specialises in addictions such as alcohol, drugs, gambling and prescription drugs.

We also treat other mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, which you may be experiencing due to your addictive behaviours.

Our clinic’s main building is an elegant Georgian mansion which provides a charming, homely and personable environment for receiving expert mental health treatment. Our close-knit, family feel allows for a flexible and informal atmosphere where your health and wellbeing are our priority.

Job Advert Role Description

As part of the Support Services team, our chefs will be directed by the Catering and Housekeeping Manager and provide only high quality fresh cooked meals for our patients and sandwiches / salads for staff.

We are looking for reliable chefs and this is an excellent opportunity to join the Priory Service in Southampton.

The rota will be Mon-Thurs & Thurs-Sun alternate weeks working 7.5 hrs per day

We also have the opportunity to cover holidays and staff sickness across other sites if you are available on your days off.

 

What we’d like from you - 

Qualifications and experience:

•             A Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery or equivalent

•             A Level 3 food safety qualification

•             Be able to prioritise work

•             Excellent organisational capability and the experience and confidence to run a small kitchen mainly as the only catering person on site

•             Understanding of COSHH management and high cleaning standards to follow routine and deep cleaning schedule

•             The ability to prepare and cook from scratch high quality fresh meals for 10-13 patients on any given day.

 

Personal Qualities:

•             A “can do” positive attitude.

•             Effective communication skills including the ability to use online ordering systems and IT ability to open emails, read spreadsheets and design menus

•             Flexibility in role including menu changes and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances

•             Commitment to delivering a high quality service

•             Very good personal hygiene standards

•             Enthusiasm and energy with a good degree of empathy and understanding of others

 

Chefs selected for interview will also be provided menus and recipes and tested cooking a lunchtime meal for patients in a second interview.
