Job Advert Location Description

The Priory Roehampton Hospital offers treatment for complex mental health difficulties for adolescents within a Tier 4 General Adolescent Unit (12 bedded) and a CAMHS Eating Disorder Unit (18 bedded). In addition the hospital offers treatment in adult eating disorders and general adult acute and addiction services. 

Job Advert Role Description

The post is split between the general adolescent unit (0.4 WTE Monday and Tuesday) and the CAMHS Eating Disorder Unit (0.6 WTE Wednesday and Friday). 

The role entails providing day to day medical and psychiatric care in both services under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrists. Responsibilities include medical and psychiatric assessment of new admissions, ongoing monitoring of mental and physical health, report writing, record keeping and liaison with paediatric colleagues. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop experience in adolescent psychiatry and eating disorders. You'll be working with a multi-disciplinary of nurses, dietitians, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, teachers and family therapists to provide comprehensive treatment including medical monitoring, nutritional rehabilitation, and a variety of therapeutic interventions e.g. DBT, CBT, Family interventions. 

Other responsibilities include teaching medical students, contributing to service development and CPD activities and providing cross cover to the other speciality doctors. There is no on-call commitment and highly competitive compensation rates - IT skills are essential.
