Avalon is a specialist residential home for adults with either a primary diagnosis mental health and/or an associated learning disability.  The home is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the community along with good transport link to Cardiff city centre.

Located near to central Cardiff, Avalon is a six-bed specialist group home, providing short and long-term rehabilitation for service users who have a learning disability with previous or current mental health issues.

The unit is led by an effective multidisciplinary team, experienced in rehabilitation, recovery and caring for service users with complex needs. We are committed to providing a safe environment in which service users can explore freedom of choice and expression and make decisions associated with everyday living.

We are looking for a motivated OT to work between three Enhanced Community Homes in the Cardiff area, providing quality, inspiring innovation and delivering value is what we set out to achieve at Priory Healthcare. Enabling our patients with learning disability/previous or current mental health issues to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.

 

Avalon, Beechley Drive and Princes Street are three Enhanced community homes situated in the Pontcanna, Pentrabane and Roath area of Cardiff, providing assessment and treatment for both men and women aged 18 and over with a mild to moderate learning disability, who may also have a personality disorder and associated mental health problems. Avalon has six beds over three floors, Beechley Drive has eight beds within joint houses and Princes Street has five beds within a two-story spacious house.

The post holder will have at least 2 years post registration experience, hold a BSc(Hons) in Occupational Therapy, and have full BAOT membership and HPC registration.

Experience of working within learning disability services would be advantageous, as well as working with patients that display behaviours that challenge.
