Job Advert Location Description

Oaktree Manor is a low secure hospital providing care and treatment to adults (male and female) with a primary diagnosis of learning disabilities. Patients are all detained under the Mental Health Act and may have Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD); challenging behaviours; dual diagnosis including mental health and personality disorders. We have six wards which provide safe and therapeutic environments for the patient group . Oaktree Manor is in Tendring which is near Clacton on Sea , Essex and has good travel links to nearby towns such as Ipswich, Colchester and also London.

Job Advert Role Description

Clinical and / or Forensic Psychologist roles involve:

  • Providing psychological input within either our women's services or male Autism services by providing direct and indirect delivery of clinical psychology services, as part of routine assessment and treatment delivery.
  • Providing a structured comprehensive DBT treatment programme.
  • Working within our women’s services, you should have knowledge and skills of clinical / forensic psychology as applied to this patient group. With appropriate supervision and support, you should be able to: develop and implement agreed clinical methods of working within the allocated Service; provide clinical supervision for assistant psychologists, as required; undertake training needs analysis and develop training packages for staff of other disciplines.
  • Working within our men's autistic services, you should have knowledge and skills of clinical / forensic psychology as applied to this patient group. With appropriate supervision and support, you should be able to: develop and implement agreed clinical methods of working within the allocated Service; provide clinical supervision for assistant psychologists, as required; undertake training needs analysis and develop training packages for staff of other disciplines.

 

You should have good organisational ability and be able to work well within a structured assessment and treatment process.  You will be an active member of a multi-disciplinary clinical team and participate fully in developing and providing services to patients.

 

To be successful as Clinical and / or Forensic Psychologist you’ll need:

• Psychology GBR

• DBT experience is essential

• Autism diagnostic experience preferred

• Additional postgraduate qualification/ training

• Registered (or eligible) Forensic or Clinical Psychologist with HCPC

• Experience working in secure settings is highly desirable.
