Job Advert Role Description

Farleigh Further Education College Frome is an independent specialist residential college for young people aged 16 to 25 who have an ASD diagnosis.

The college provides a varied range of learning opportunities including both academic and vocational pathways. Learning is delivered both on site at Farleigh FE College and off site, where we work with a range of external partners including local FE colleges.

We aim to provide every young person with an individually tailored programme of education, care, work experience, leisure and life skills and training within the community, to enable them to live as independently as possible.

Our dedicated team of staff create a safe, secure and supportive environment where our learners have a sense of belonging. Our approach enables young people to develop the confidence and skills they need to progress towards adulthood, including further or higher education and sustainable independent living in the community.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a passionate,  enthusiastic and highly motivated leader who has a sound knowledge of ASD but who can also offer knowledge and experience of working with a variety of children and young people with challenging, complex and diverse needs.

Working with the College Senior Leadership Team the House Manager undertakes responsibility for a residential home and ensures that this is a safe, nurturing and positive environment for our young people.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic forward thinker who can work proactively to inspire, lead and develop their staff team.  Working with Care colleagues they will ensure that Care provision meets the requirements of both internal and external regulators, including Ofsted and will continually strive towards providing excellent standards of care.  You will be a problem solver with the ability to ’think on your feet’ to respond to the ever changing and diverse needs of our students.

The role will require the individual to undertake shift work (this will include weekend working and being included in an on call rota).

You must be an established level 3 practitioner and also hold or be working towards Diploma level 5.
