Job Advert Role Description

We are recruiting for Residential Support Worker’s for our Children’s Homes in Cheshire. Dane House is a 3 bed children's home catering for children and young people aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is a small home with a stable and very dedicated core staff team.  We currently have 2 vacancies for Residential Support Workers to join the team.

The homes provide a modern setting in which service users can achieve an enhanced degree of emotional stability through an active approach to learning. Service users are able to engage in daily life with increased confidence, self-esteem, dignity and independence.

As a Residential Support Worker you will be a key member of our Children’s Home Team in Congleton - Cheshire, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people throughout their day-to-day life. Our Residential support workers through a creative and caring approach, will build good relationships with both students and their families, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible at our Children’s home.

Successful applicants will be required to provide a range of support services including help with personal care and helping to develop social skills and home skills to children in their residential setting. 

This is a physically demanding role and staff will also need to have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all our employees to share in this commitment.

Our Support Worker roles in Cheshire offer a salary of up to £17,126

Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. Our Support Worker posts will suit people who are prepared to work a three week rolling rota comprising of early and late shifts covering weekdays and weekends. The role does not require any contractual ‘sleep-in’ duties.

Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential for this role (we can support with the training of this.) Successful applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, or you are applying to work within our Children’s Homes we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
