Job Advert Location Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Clinical Psychologists to join the team, providing psychological services across the following Priory and Partnerships in Care sites:

Priory Hospital Church Village is a locked rehabilitation service, providing assessment and treatment for women between the ages of 18 and 65 with a mild to moderate learning disability, who may also have a personality disorder and associated mental health problems. The hospital had 10 beds on the main ward, with a 2 bedroom step down bungalow on site.

Ty Catrin is a low secure mental illness and personality disorder service for men and women who require a medium-term placement and recovery-orientated specialist treatment in order to progress on their care pathway towards rehabilitation care. The facility is split into six wards along with semi-independent flats onsite

Beechley Drive, Avalon and Princes Street are Enhanced Community Homes based in Cardiff. All 3 homes are specialist homes for home for adults with learning disabilities who may also have past or present mental illness.. The homes are supported by a full multidisciplinary team and provide safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the local community.

Job Advert Role Description

Applications are invited from experienced and enthusiastic clinical psychologists. Experience in a forensic setting would be desirable. Registration with the HCPC is essential.

The post holder will be expected to deliver a variety of specialist individual and group interventions using a range of models to meet patient need across all services. The post holder will be expected to work with the broader clinical team in developing and maintaining robust outcome reporting. We are seeking someone who is a keen team player and who has an interest in developing therapeutic approaches and cultures by working in consultation with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will also be actively involved in service development and clinical governance.

Duties include:

  • To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive and specialist psychology service to patients at Church Village, Enhanced Community Homes and Ty Catrin
  • To provide specialist psychological assessment, and offer advice and consultation on clients psychological care to non-psychology colleagues and carers
  • To provide specialist psychological interventions through initiating and implementing treatment programmes in collaboration with other team members.
  • To liaise with referrers, external agencies and organisations as appropriate.
  • To produce and disseminate reports and clinical summaries of an excellent standard.
  • To participate (under the direction of the Regional Psychologist) in contributing to regional audits as well as the research programme for the sites.
  • To have the capacity to work autonomously and within professional guidelines and the overall framework of Priory Healthcare and PIC policies and procedures.
