Job Advert Role Description

Priory Group are introducing a new incident reporting system (DATIX) and we are seeking an experienced DATIX administrator to assist in making this a success and consequently building on our track record of making constant improvements in patient safety.The successful candidate will have IT expertise together with experience of using the incident system in a similar environment.The candidate will take a lead role in introducing the system, rolling it out across a diverse organisation which operates on a nationwide basis and establishing its use in day-to-day practice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience in project management and who enjoys working toward clear goals and objectives within clear timeframes.

DATIX System Administrator roles & responsibilities:

  • To develop DATIX incident reporting templates which are suitable and appropriate for the specific divisions

  • Identify and/or respond to concerns raised about technical faults with the Datix system and liaise with Priory IT, hospital/home and school management teams and relevant others to resolve

  • To manage Datix upgrades and liaise with Datix Ltd to improve the functionality of the system
  • Support with the management and administration of user access requests and password/permission control

  • To produce reports for external agencies as required

  • Work closely with the Data Protection Team to ensure suitable data protection in respect of incident reporting and the reports that follow is in place

  • To assist colleagues with any Datix related issues including technical and training matters and liaise with Priory IT and/or Datix Ltd as required

  • To lead on the ongoing enhancement of Datix and where agreed develop and undertake a leading role in the implementation of additional modules

What We'd like from you: 

  • Experience of Datix software preferred but not essential
  • Experience of working with IT systems and the ability to prepare reports managing own workload in this environment
  • Ability to analyse data and transfer it into relevant formats for the intended audience
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communications including awareness of impact of communication on desired audience. Can flex communication, style dependant, on the given situation and the message needing to be conveyed
